I suppose it’s okay if you don’t know who Earl Scruggs was. Still, there is a *lot* of banjo being played in contemporary North American folk-pop these days, albeit in the old timey archaic style that predated Earl. He basically preserved it and kept it from going the way of the autoharp. There are few musicians so synonymous with an instrument.
