-I failed at making soup today. Not a complete failure, but I thought for sure I had this whole soup business figured out. If a soup is merely “edible” but falls well short of “mmm this sure soup is good” then what is the point of … can you see what I’m blogging about? Guhhh.  Dude.

-I’ve started using the Kindle I received for Christmas.  Last night I reflexively put a bookmark between the screen and its cover. I didn’t correct myself. In fact I’ll probably continue doing it as part of some vague, unspoken protest.

-I want to draw stuff. Can’t do it.

-I try to limit the amount of political commentary I post but you KNOW I have seething opinions. I think many people use tumblr as an escape and I feel protective of a lot of you.  A whole bunch of my followers are facing a frightening future if not immediate peril.  I was thinking the other day about how many creative people I’ve encountered on here – people I’ve had the opportunity to see grow into amazing artists, and thinkers, and makers, and do-ers. It’s humbling.

-I just got a text from a woman who wants to swing by and pick up her ukulele. It took a second for me to figure out what was going on because I couldn’t recognize the name.  I completed the work back in February of 2014…
